This afternoon we, Greg and Tracey, collected our Elddis Autoquest 180 from Lowdham Leisure, it is not a new model but 3 years old with just 7000 miles on the clock.

The Autoquest 180 is a six berth model, with a double over the cab, a double made up in the dinette and then a final double at the end in the U shape Lounge area so is an ideal size for us and the three boys.
We have previously had a touring caravan aswell as a tent, neither really got much use, we found that with the touring caravan is was difficult to manouver onto the driveway so we had to keep it in storage, this meant we had to plan everything, take everything to the van, then come back and pick kids up from school and then go and fetch the van and go. This was more hassle than it was worth and we found we used it just once a year. With the Autoquest 180, it is easier to get onto the drive, ie it’s 23ft in total rather than 23ft plus the length of a towing car. This means we can just load it up and go with no planning and little notice.
We can’t get away this weekend as our eldest, Julian, is away in France on a school exchange and is due back Sunday morning sometime but we do plan to take a trip next weekend.
Our aim is just to take short trips this year as our main holiday in spain is already booked, and it will be a few years before we take a good long tour around europe and beyond for a couple of years.
