We joined both the Caravan Club and the Camping and Caravan club. Each have regional branches who run ‘meets’, we never looked at these meets or rally’s when we had the touring caravan so we thought we would give them ago, they can be cheap and they are local, a great way to get used to our new motor home.
We went to a meet run by the Camping and Caravan club at Thoresby Park, we received a great welcome by the stewards for the weekend and told we can pitch wherever we like as long as there is at least about 20ft between us and others. There is no electric hookup but that’s not a problem as our battery should last the two nights we are staying.
The kids loved it, they could go off and play in the woodlands and other kids, the dog loved it as she got far more walks and fuss than she would have if we had stayed at home.
On the Saturday there was a 5 mile moonwalk in aid of a cancer charity, we were not prepared for this as the idea was for everyone to where a bra, you can imagine how funny this was when you hear there was a Harley Davidson rally in the next field and the moonwalk took us through their camp site.

This was a great weekend, and all for just £9.
We will look at these again in future.
