Are we aren’t we?

I had thought that it would be good to get away this weekend, it’s been almost a month since the AutoQuest had a trip out and I would like to get more out of it before it gets too cold.

The thought of going away was getting ready to turn into reality until our eldest came home from school with the arm virtually hanging off his blazer.  Apparently it happened days before but he doesn’t know how and he was waiting to see one of his craft teachers to see if she could sew it back on for him before we noticed. I am still trying to get my head around that logic but hey who knows what goes through a teenagers head these days.

Anyway, it has been sewn back on with needle and thread but really it needs doing by machine which we don’t own, the local dry cleaners said it would cost about £10 to repair and take a week.  Tracey’s sister has a machine so her mother has borrowed that and offered to sew it back on properly, it has been arranged for us to take it round there this weekend so our son is not without it during the week as it is automatic detention if not in full uniform.

So guess what, no trip this weekend, heck kids/school stuff must come first.

Anyway I am taking the motorhome back to Lowdham on Monday as the internal ariel sockets are not working. We noticed there was a problem soon after we first got the Autoquest but never really done anything about it and have been passing the ariel coax from the ariel, through the window and straight into the television rather than connecting it to the external ariel socket and then using a patch lead to connect the internal socket to the television.

Anyway last week we tested what we could, I am no diyer so checks where basic, patch lead was tested indoors, that worked fine. We then lifted the seat in the motorhome and found that the coax from the external socket was then connected to another set of cables that obviously goes off to the internal sockets, so we disconnected that and plugged it straight into the tv and that also worked ok. That leaves, in our opinion just the third section of cabling that obviously goes to the two internal ariel sockets. This we havn’t tested, in our opinion as we have only had the Elddis a few months then our warrenty should cover the cost of testing and fixing the problem.
