Sat at home for another weekend

It is so depressing to wake up on a Saturday morning and look out of the window too see your motorhome just sat there. Actually it would be more depressing if it wasn’t but you get the idea.

For the 2nd weekend in a row we have not been away, this has been for various reasons.

We have been generally going on meets arranged by the Notts District Association of the Camping and Caravan club, for the last week 10 days they have had various meets related to the Nottingham Goose fair. The main meet being this weekend just gone, the Goose fair weekend.

We would have loved to have gone but it was a ‘pre booked’ meet as it is a big national meet. We was told a couple of weeks ago we could still book but another regular said that the later you book the further away from it all you are so we decided to leave it this year and book early next year.

We did consider attending a meet arranged by one of the neighbouring districts but some had the weekend left free for the Goose Fair meet and we thought chances are there would just a few others them.

Instead I had planned to add a 2nd battery, I know not a big job one I kept putting off. The idea was to go get a battery similar to what is already there, but that was what we couldn’t do in the end. The bloody washing machine at home needed repairing, the cost of which could have bought us two batteries and enough 12 volt power to last as long as we’re ever likely to need when wildcamping (having no 240V electric supply), but Tracey wasn’t keen on washing the clothes of 5 of us by hand, so the battery has had to go on hold and the washing machine repaired.

Goose Fair is classed as the last meet of the season by the Notts DA, although they have 3 more this year, one for Halloween, one for Bonfire night and one for New Year. Tracey has already stressed that we are not going away in the van for New Year:( but we plan to attend at least one of the other two meets.
